32 ounces root beer 1 quart ketchup 1 cup fresh lemon juice 3/4 cup Worcestershire sauce 1/3 cup packed brown sugar 1/4 cup light molasses 1-1/2 tablespoons liquid smoke 2 teaspoons lemon peel 1 cup orange juice 2 teaspoons ground ginger 2 teaspoons garlic powder 2 teaspoons onion powder
Mix all ingredients well and bring to a boil while stirring constantly. Reduce to 1/2 volume over low heat. Simmer for about 20-25 minutes. Cool and refrigerate. From Mark Slawson, Chef de Cuisine, The Wort Hotel, Jackson Hole, WY
3 cups chili sauce 1 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 teaspoon ground ginger 1 teaspoon dry mustard 2 teaspoons granulated garlic 1/4 cup liquid smoke 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar 1 teaspoon chili powder 1-1/2 cups strong coffee 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon salt
In a large saucepot, combine all ingredients. Simmer slowly for 30 minutes. Use this sauce as a dipping sauce or brush on food being barbecued just before serving. Anonymous BANANA PUDDING* Mix sugar and cornstarch well in sauce pan. Add milk and beaten egg yolks. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Add butter, salt and vanilla.
